College Credit Plus Student Requirements

For currently enrolled high school students seeking to earn college credit by taking courses at Urbana University, or by taking Urbana University courses at their high school

Option 1: Courses delivered on the Urbana University campus or online

Current high school students may receive college level credit through the College Credit Plus Program, which allows them to complete courses on the Urbana University campus or online.

Admission Requirements/Materials:

  • Completed College Credit Plus application
  • High school transcript demonstrating a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, OR a high school transcript demonstrating a cumulative GPA of 2.5-2.99 and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor
  • Official document demonstrating an ACT composite score of 17, an SAT score of 830, or an equivalent score on the ACT Plan, ACT Compass, PSAT, or Accuplacer examination

Option 2: Courses delivered on the high school campus

Urbana University’s College Credit Plus Program is a state-authorized program permitting academically-qualified high school students to earn college credit by taking courses on their high school campus

The courses offered at the high schools by Urbana University are selected by the school district with the approval of the University. High school faculty who meet established criteria are trained by the University to teach those courses.

Admission Requirements/Materials:

  • Completed College Credit Plus application
  • High school transcript demonstrating a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, or
  • High school transcript demonstrating a cumulative GPA of 2.5-2.99, and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor
