Obtain or Enhance Your Teacher Licensure

Education options for college grads and current teachers

Whether you are a college grad looking to break into PK-12 education, or you are a licensed teacher with a desire to broaden your career possibilities, Urbana University has an education option that meets your needs.

Our post-baccalaureate programs help you build on your existing bachelor’s degree by providing the coursework necessary to satisfy the requirements for an Ohio Resident Educator Initial License. Choose from the following licensure areas:

  • Adolescent to Young Adult Education (Grades 7-12)
  • Early Childhood Education (PK-Grade 3)
  • Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate (K- Grade 12)
  • Middle Childhood Education (Grades 4-9)

For current teachers, Urbana University offers specialized courses in pedagogy and content that can help you expand your existing teaching credentials with an endorsement. If you are an Ohio teacher currently licensed in Early Childhood Education, you can earn a Generalist Endorsement, which enables you to teach students in grades 4 and 5.
