College of Arts, Sciences, and Technology Work Study (Mathematics)

Position Summary:

  • The College of Arts, Sciences, and Technology Work Study Assistant (Mathematics) provides office and administrative support to the Mathematics and Science faculty.  The position will work under the supervision of the Mathematics faculty.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administrative/Office duties including:
    • Copying, sorting, scanning, and collating
    • Schedule meetings
    • Prepare large mailings
    • Filing (electronic and paper) and note-taking
    • Review Math documents
  • Assists in special projects such as:
    • Providing support for events
    • Assist with research
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Hours for this position are up to 20 hours per week, M-F, scheduled between the hours of 8-5.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must be a current Urbana Student, and have Federal Work Study eligibility
  • Demonstrated administrative qualities including the ability to:
    • Collaborate with others
    • Multi-task
    • Organize
    • Prioritize
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
  • Customer service skills
  • Possess attention to detail
  • Proficient with e-mail and the Internet

Preferred Skills and Characteristics:

  • Must have a good knowledge of Mathematics

Additional Notes:

  • Occasional early morning or evening availability is required to support special events.
