Adjunct Faculty - Statistics

Urbana University, a branch campus of Franklin University, is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach several statistics courses in a traditional face-to-face course format (12 – 16 weeks) in Urbana, Ohio. These courses will be taught mostly during the day Monday – Friday beginning Fall 2020. The courses include:

  • MATH 215- Statistical Concepts (4 credit hour), an introductory level statistics course with real life applications
  • MATH 280 (4 credit hour) – Introduction to Probability and Statistics, designed for Computer Science and Technology majors
  • MATH 450 (4 credit hour) - Statistics, a calculus based advanced stats course with proofs

Requirements for this position include a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field with at least two years of teaching experience in this area. If the degree is in a related area, the candidate should have at least 18 graduate credit hours in the field of Mathematics or Statistics. Computer literacy, proficient use of MS Word and Excel and a desire to help students in and outside of the classroom are also required.  

In addition to the educational qualifications described above, the candidate should have some experience with various online learning products, courseware, graphing calculators and should possess excellent communication skills and work ethics.
