Adjunct Faculty-Accounting

Urbana University is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach a Tax Accounting course in a face-to-face format beginning Spring 2020. Classes will be taught Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:45 a.m.-11:35 a.m. from January 7, 2020-April 30, 2020.

The class involves the analysis of the income tax consequences of the formation, operation and liquidation of C-corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts including the treatment of distributions by these entities and tax planning considerations.  Also examined is the tax effect of property transfers by gift or death.  Technical tax research and tax memo documentation also required.

Requirements for this position include at least a Master’s degree in Accounting. PhD candidates are strongly preferred. Must have at least five (5) years’ progressive practical experience in the accounting profession with emphasis in taxation and at least one professional certification in accounting or taxation or licensure in law.  Prior teaching experience is required. In order to be considered for this position, you must have daytime availability.
