Graduation

You’ve Made It To Graduation Day!

Urbana University holds Commencement each May to recognize students who have completed the degree requirements during that academic year.

A joyful occasion, the commencement draws family and friends from all across the country and around the world to celebrate with the graduates. To make plans far enough in advance, the below information will answer questions for those who will take part in or attend the ceremony.

Graduation Procedures

Spring 2020 Outstanding balances: All outstanding balances must be paid in full by April 3. In order to pick up your regalia and participate in the graduation ceremony, all outstanding balances must be paid. All payments by check must be submitted no later than March 30. Diplomas or transcripts will not be issued to students with unpaid balances.

Commencement

As we all continue to adhere to Ohio’s social distancing mandates, it is clear that we will not be able to gather in person for Urbana University’s Spring 2020 Commencement. Instead, to provide an opportunity to celebrate, the in-person ceremony will be adapted to a virtual event, which will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 11 a.m.

Like you, we are disappointed that we cannot celebrate graduation in the traditional way, by gathering as one large group and recognizing each person's achievements. Unique times require unique solutions, and we are committed to recreating an environment where all of our graduates can feel honored for their tremendous accomplishments.

We understand this decision may not be what you had hoped and therefore remind you, that for an event as momentous as commencement, the day does not define the journey.

An invitation with additional information including log in instructions will be sent via email within the coming weeks. In addition, updates will be posted to the Urbana University website as details are finalized.

On May 21, diplomas and caps and gowns will be mailed to students who ordered them, so that you will have them prior to the ceremony. We know how much effort it took for you to reach this important milestone. Let's share this joyful occasion in a new way, together.
