Student organizations are a great way to get involved in campus life. At Urbana, you’ll find 30 student-led professional, social, academic and service organizations – so there are sure to be several within your comfort zone and maybe a couple more that you’ve always wanted to try.
Fifty-five percent of Urbana students live on campus. As a result of the residence hall experience, you will forge friendships that last a lifetime, gain an understanding of community responsibility, develop your leadership skills and learn about different cultures, backgrounds and ideas. Within Urbana’s residence halls, the Office of Residence life emphasizes civic responsibility, mutual respect, mature interpersonal relationships, multicultural understanding and community engagement.
Urbana’s performing arts groups give students interested in theatre and music an opportunity to explore and express their talents. Much like the classroom experience, participation in performing arts groups provides an opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors and receive individualized feedback In addition, you can receive scholarships for participation in band, choir or theatre regardless of your major.
