The William G. Edwards Honors Program

The William G. Edwards Honors Program enriches the college experience for students through unique and rigorous learning opportunities that encourage inquiry, problem solving, and collaboration. It emphasizes putting learning into action and prepares students to be active members of their professional fields, as well as engaged members of their local communities.

  • Curriculum - Provide rigorous and diverse learning opportunities in and beyond the classroom including eight honors courses (click here to download program curriculum guide)
  • Cultural Exploration - Opportunity to participate in a domestic study away experience
  • Scholar Events - Participation and involvement in the spring scholars showcase which recognizes students scholastic accomplishments
  • Recognition - Designation on University transcript and at graduation
  • Leadership - Represent Urbana University to prospective students, campus guests, and University leaders
  • Community Service - Opportunities for student involvement with the university and the local community

Program Profile

The Urbana University Honors Program maintains high standards for its students. Our current Honors Program students:

  • Have an average high school GPA: 3.915 and a Median ACT: 26
  • Are active in athletics including volleyball, swimming, cross country, football, softball and soccer
  • Participate in campus activities including plays, band and choir, and academic honor societies
