Urbana University, a division of Franklin University, is currently seeking a dynamic, experienced Human Resources Generalist to serve as a key member of the HR department. Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for performing a broad spectrum of duties including supporting the talent lifecycle, performance management, employee relations, training and development, data analysis, and employee engagement to the Urbana University workforce. Responsibilities are varied, requiring a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, independent judgment, detail-orientation and multi-tasking. The candidate will understand the importance of integrity, having a clear sense of personal and professional accountability while exercising sound judgment and common sense.  

With an emphasis on support to both leadership and the workforce, the Generalist will be responsible for managing and maintaining solid Human Resources practices, including compliance with all federal and state employment regulations; as well as creating and maintaining high levels of employee engagement at the University, with the goal of retaining top talent.  The Generalist will assist in administration and implementation of large-scale human resources related programs and projects, as well as manage and coordinate day-to-day functions.

This position is ideal for an experienced Generalist who is eager to continue building on existing programs while innovatively creating enhancements and developing new opportunities. The position requires an independent and highly motivated professional with an orientation toward the development and appreciation of people within the context of the organization’s strategic directions. Also required is the ability to communicate positively and respectfully with all levels of the organization, both academic and operational.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of progressive experience in human resources.
