Urbana University, a branch campus of Franklin University has an opening for a Data Collection and Reporting Specialist within the College of Education.  Reporting to the Dean of the College, the successful individual will support the Dean and Faculty within the College of Education on all aspects of data collection and reporting that is related to gaining and maintaining compliance with the requirements of national, regional, and state accreditation agencies. Applicants will be expected to have confidence and experience maintaining existing and establishing appropriate new processes to ensure an organized system of evidence collection. Prior experience with k-12 education, educator preparation programs, TaskStream, TK20, or similar data collection and reporting tools is preferred. The Data Collection and Reporting Specialist will assist the Dean of the College of Education and appropriate delegates to ensure data integrity so that reports generated can be trusted to provide accurate information. This position will also cultivate positive working relationships across the University and with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies in support of new and existing programs.

He/she will coordinate with the College of Education faculty for report creation and submission in order to meet the reporting requirements specified by the HLC, ODHE, and CAEP. This candidate will need to be an experienced problem solver that can take general direction and then proactively create and maintain report structures required by these and other accreditation bodies. The selected individual will ensure the maintenance of effective document storage and retrieval procedures. Additional responsibilities may include working with the Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness (AIE) team to identify key action items and project timelines associated with College of Education accreditation site visits. The communication of this information and any changes to the Dean of the College of Education and appropriate delegates is expected. The position requires occasional flexible work schedules in order to meet periodic reporting deadlines.

The candidate will be able to independently prepare summary documents that provide guidance to the Dean of the College of Education and appropriate delegates at regular College of Education meetings.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience with data entry, management, and reporting in higher education or PK-12
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to facilitate the dissemination of needed information
  • Skill in working collaboratively with others to develop training appropriate for specific audiences on the effective use of data collection and reporting tools
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Must be dependable and self-motivated
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Must develop an understanding of, and agreement with, the University and College of Education vision, mission, and values

Preferred Skills and Characteristics:

  • Experience and/or certification with TaskStream, TK20, or similar data collection and reporting tools
  • Experience in k-12 education and/or educator preparation program environments
  • Certifications or similar credentials related to data system management
  • Associate’s Degree
