Urbana University, a branch campus of Franklin University, located in Urbana, Ohio, is seeking a full-time Faculty (12 month) within the Department of Business. The faculty is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The Management Faculty is responsible for performing duties during the day, evening, or weekend as assigned. Planned visitation to partner schools to build relationships in our ongoing effort to attract new students to Urbana University is a job expectation. Additional related activities include holding office hours, advising students, participating in student visit days and orientation sessions, and serving on faculty committees. An instructor performs all other duties as directed by the College Dean and/or the Department Chair.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops course content, activities and assignments
  • Updates and maintains course content, resources, activities and assignments on a regular basis
  • Establishes course standards, assuring consistency of course delivery through regular communications with all faculty teaching assigned courses.
  • Implements course assessment procedures
  • Teaches courses in Management and related courses
  • Provides or serves as a substitute instructor for courses (if necessary)
  • Advises students with course scheduling, job opportunities in the field  of study and requirements for graduation
  • Participates in personal professional development
  • Participates in faculty meetings and appropriate professional development activities
  • Works with the Department Chair and others as needed to assign adjunct faculty to teach course(s) in accordance with University policies
  • Participates in the regularly scheduled Division, College and University meetings
  • Attends Faculty Assembly meetings and other University committees
  • Administers course schedules for assigned courses
  • Works with Administrative Assistant to coordinate textbook orders and other instructional materials for assigned course(s), and distribute to adjunct instructors if necessary
  • Provides current information on curriculum to the College and the University
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean


  • Earned Doctorate in Business or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.  “All but dissertation" (ABD) candidates with substantial progress toward completion will be considered. 
  • Commitment to collaborative and collegiate relationships
  • Knowledge of higher education regulations, compliance and accrediting agencies
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner and work effectively with faculty, staff and members of the professional community
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills

This is a 12-month full-time position with earned vacation time (or planned leave/breaks).
