Volunteers Needed for the Johnny Appleseed Educational Center & Museum

The Johnny Appleseed Educational Center & Museum, located in Browne Hall at Urbana University, is looking to recruit volunteers to help keep Johnny Appleseed’s legacy alive. Volunteers help the Museum during open hours or special events, and we have many opportunities available for all talents and interests.


The Johnny Appleseed Educational Center & Museum focuses on continuing the mission of Johnny Appleseed. We focus on educating the public, preserving his history, and sharing his values to benefit the community. The Museum is seeking new, committed volunteers willing to learn more about Johnny Appleseed and share that knowledge with the public. The volunteer program at the Museum is vital to the success of the Museum, and you will be an integral part of sustaining and spreading the Appleseed legacy.


The Museum is inviting anyone interested in learning more about what they can do to preserve this important part of our local history to contact the Museum at 937-772-9297 or You can also visit the Museum for more information: Thursdays and Fridays 1 – 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
