Part-Time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
Urbana University, a branch campus of Franklin University, has an opening for a part-time Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. Urbana is a NCAA Division II institution that competes in the Mountain East Conference (MEC).
The Assistant Coach will provide support to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach in running this highly successful NCAA D II program. He/she will demonstrate teaching and coaching competencies concerning skill instruction and tactical knowledge possessing motivation and ability to assist with daily practice sessions during the season and off-season. He/she will also assist and provide input regarding the strength and conditioning program for the team and will work with the men’s soccer program on annual planning and promotions. The Assistant Coach will also assist the head coach and travel to recruit qualified collegiate student-athletes.
Additional duties include providing leadership in the personal, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes; monitoring their academic progress; and assisting with the implementation of the basic principles and policies of the athletic governing bodies of NCAA Division II and the Mountain East Conference (MEC) and Urbana University.
We seek someone with a Bachelor’s degree and three years of successful coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level with the ability to work successfully in a highly competitive Division II environment. Coaching license, certifications, and badges are preferred. The selected individual will have working knowledge of coaching both field players and goalkeepers; have the ability to work with Front Rush recruiting software; and the ability to create film sessions with both individual members of the team and the full team.
The selected individual must also have a satisfactory motor vehicle report as part of his/her background check process and this must be maintained throughout employment at Urbana in this position as driving student-athletes will be part of the responsibilities of this role.
