Coordinator of Student Life and Recreation

Urbana University, a branch campus of Franklin University, has an opening for a full-time Coordinator of Student Life and Recreation.  Reporting to the Director of Student Life, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of campus organizations, activities, Intramural and informal recreation opportunities including but not limited to; fitness programs, fitness center and open recreation and Weekend/Weeks of Welcome. The Coordinator of Student Life and Recreation will assist with Orientation, summer camps and conferences and Leadership efforts with the oversight of the Director of Student Life. 

This position will require working evening, late night and weekend hours on an as-needed basis and will also require someone who can drive students in a University vehicle (car, minivan or 15-passenger van).  As a result, a satisfactory motor vehicle report will be required as part of the background check process.

We require someone with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, Counseling or related field being preferred.  Previous experience in Student Leadership, Student Engagement, Student Activities or related field is also required.  In addition, we seek someone with previous experience planning, organizing or implementing staff development and training programs for student organizations and activities.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in supervising undergraduate staff and knowledge and understanding of student development theory and practice.  He/she must have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and be able to perform the functions of this position creatively, independently and professionally with oversight and direction from the Director of Student Life.
