Administrative Assistant to Student Affairs
Urbana University has an opening for an Administrative Assistant to Student Affairs. This individual will provide administrative support to the Office of Student Affairs, including the Directors, on an as needed basis. The Assistant will manage and coordinate University event requests including meetings, student & employee activities, and athletic events/practices using EZBook scheduling system. Manages calendars and deadlines making sure the Directors are apprised of and adequately prepared for their calendar commitments. Assists with events such as Welcome Week, Student Orientation, Parents Weekend, Homecoming, etc. Other responsibilities will include managing and coordinating University travel with UU vehicles, rental vehicles, and busses. In addition, this position supports the Office of Community Standards by scheduling conduct related meetings.
Position Requirements: A high school diploma or GED is required. Prior administrative and/or event planning experience is strongly preferred. This individual should be able to work with minimal supervision, anticipate the needs of the department, have the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, dependable, and possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, while maintaining confidentiality. We seek someone with strong writing and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will have experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Some evening/early morning hours may occasionally be required to support the needs of the department.
