Come rain, sleet, snow, the Urbana University’s Colleges Against Cancer Relay for Life will be held today, Friday, April 11 beginning at 2 pm with the Opening Ceremony in the Quad outside of the Warren G. Grimes Center. Students, staff and faculty have been working on this event since September. Eight teams have been busy raising money for the American Cancer Society through pledges and campus events.
The public is invited and encouraged to come and participate. There will be many fun events going on while team members walk the relay. We particularly would like to invite any cancer survivor to come for the Survivor Lap and Reception at 7 pm. The Luminaria Ceremony will be held at 8 pm.
he weather may not be perfect, but it will remind us all that those who have been affected by cancer have had to endure so much more. For more information about the Relay for Life at Urbana University, contact Emily Campbell at uurelay@aol.com .
