Urbana University strives to provide a comprehensive and competitive package of benefits for all full-time faculty, administrators and hourly staff.
The following provide a summary of those benefits. Should there be any discrepancy between the summary and the plan document governing the benefit, the plan document will prevail.
Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
Urbana University medical benefits are outlined in this summary of benefits booklet, provided by partner Stocksdale Insurance.
Health insurance plans are provided through Anthem:
- High Deductible Health Plans/Health Savings Plan
- Traditional PPO Plan
- Anthem's Women's Preventative Health Benefits
Dental coverage is provided through Superior Dental.
Vision coverage is provided through VSP Vision Care.
Urbana University currently provides life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage on full time employees equal to one and one-half times the employee’s annual income rounded to the next higher $1000 to a maximum of $75,000.
Paid Time Off
Holidays Paid time off will be given for the recognized holidays. To be eligible for holiday pay, the employee must work on the scheduled workday before and after the declared holiday unless using accrued vacation or sick leave.
Sick Time Urbana University provides paid sick days. Full time employees accrue one sick day per month up to a total of 450 hours (60 days). Part time employees working between 20 and 37.5 hours a week accrue sick leave at the rate of 3.75 hours per month up to a total of 225 hours (60 days).
Vacation Employees who normally work at least 37.5 hours per week in a 12 month period will earn vacation time at the following rates:

Urbana University provides retirement savings options through TIAA-CREF. Urbana University will match up to 6% of an employee’s contributions to retirement savings.
