Conceptual Framework
The Conceptual Framework of the Teacher Education Unit at Urbana University is organized around four themes:
- Accountability
- Professionalism
- Building Learning Communities
- Communication
These themes are supported by current research and address the standards adopted by the State of Ohio, derived from the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education, and various specialty professional organization that govern the teacher prpearation programs offered by the Unit. The full Conceptual Framework, which was revised in Fall 2011, is presented below.
