The Presidential Search Committee invites applications and nominations for the position of President of Urbana University.
Founded in 1850, Urbana University is a progressive, private, liberal arts institution on a beautiful, 128-acre campus in a historical Ohio area, less than an hour from the Columbus and Dayton metropolitan areas. Urbana is home to nearly 1,500 students, and offers 24 academic majors with an emphasis on career education and excellent co-curricular programming. The outstanding faculty, more than 70% of whom possess the terminal degree, creates a supportive and nurturing learning environment by providing individual attention and excellence in instruction.
Carnegie classifies the University as Baccalaureate/Diverse and the institution is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. The University, part of the Commission’s Academic Quality Improvement Program, also participates in the Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE), Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC), and Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO).
The President is the chief executive officer and reports directly to the Board of Trustees.The University seeks a visionary and inspirational new leader who has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a strategic mind. He or she will be an intellectual leader adept at managing and motivating a cohesive senior administration team in higher education. The President must be a compelling and energetic person with a demonstrated history of developing resources, with capital campaign experience an added plus, a record of integrity and sound financial management, who shares a student-centered philosophy and a desire to participate in the life of the University.
