UU and Champaign Family YMCA Partner for Student Memberships

Urbana University and the Champaign Family YMCA are partnering to offer semester-long Y memberships to full-time students.  Effective immediately, all students that reside on campus will enjoy a membership that will enable them to access increased fitness facilities and organized intramural sports. Commuter students will have the option to purchase a membership as well.  “The Y is pleased to broaden our partnership with Urbana University via memberships for their students.  It’s important for young adults to establish healthy habits, including the adoption of fitness and recreational pursuits that the Y provides to all of our members”, said Paul Waldsmith, YMCA CEO.

“The Champaign Family YMCA has been a friend to Urbana University for several years.  The support they provide to our students in the areas of internships and student employment is important to both of our organizations.  We look forward to strengthening those opportunities even further with the new UU Student YMCA membership,” added Dr. John Gore, Dean of Students at Urbana University.
Classes at Urbana University began on Monday, August 25.
