“Make Grimes Shine” on Friday, May 2, 2014

Urbana University’s Grimes Center, the hub of athletics for their thriving NCAA Division II program, will be the focus of attention for dozens of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff this Friday. But the focus will not be on competing but cleaning. Everyone is coming together to “shine up” the building before the summer break.

David Taynor, head football coach for the Blue Knights, stated that “the announcement this week regarding our partnership with Franklin prompted students and staff to think about a tangible way to demonstrate our excitement about it.”

Urbana president, Kirk Peterson noted that “I continue to be proud of our outstanding students and their dedication.  This initiative highlights their commitment and loyalty to the history and future of UU.  Service projects of this kind, continually demonstrate their tremendous character.”

Everyone is welcomed to join this effort Friday between 8am – 10am and 3pm - 5 pm. Contact Coach Taynor at 937-484-1292 for additional information.
