Urbana University Announces Additions to Board of Trustees
Urbana University Board of Trustees Chair, Dr. Steven Polsley, has announced the appointment two of the newest members of the Board of Trustees, Maureen Metcalf and Ron Waterman.
“We are thrilled that Maureen and Ron have accepted their roles as members of the Board of Trustees,” said Dr. Polsley. “Both of our new trustees bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and leadership experience which will enhance our board for years to come.”
Metcalf, the CEO of Metcalf & Associates, Inc., based in Columbus, Ohio, brings 30 years of business experience to support her clients' leadership and organizational transformations. She is recognized as an innovative, principled leader who demonstrates operational skills coupled with the ability to analyze, develop, and implement successful strategies for development, profitability, growth and sustainability.
The published author of multiple papers and articles, Ms. Metcalf speaks regularly on innovative leadership, resilience, and organizational transformation. She co-authored The Innovative Leadership Fieldbook, winner of the 2012 International Book Award for Best Business Reference Book. Her “Innovative Leadership” workbook series has also received awards for its contributions to increasing organizational effectiveness.
When asked about her appointment to the Board Metcalf said, “I am honored to serve on the Urbana University Board of Trustees. I have enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the University’s transformation efforts and look forward to being part of the ongoing changes.”
Metcalf earned her bachelor of science in economics from James Madison University and master of business administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
Waterman has served as assistant general counsel at Interstate Gas Supply, Inc., Columbus, Ohio for the past seven years. In this role he advises all divisions and departments on legal issues related to every facet of the business. He has devised, implemented and continued to manage all operational contract policies and processes, as well as negotiate the structure and terms of multi-billion dollar transactions.
Previously, he served as counsel and loan administration officer of the Champaign National Bank. As president of Morrill Enterprises, he started, managed, grew, and sold profitable small businesses. His work earned him recognition as a “Super Lawyers Rising Star” by Thompson Reuters – Super Lawyers Magazine.
Regarding his appointment Waterman stated, “I am privileged and proud to join the Board at this exciting and change-filled time—and I look forward to participating in Urbana University’s continuing evolution.”
Waterman received his bachelor of science in accounting from The Ohio State University and his law degree from Capital University where he ranked first in the largest law school class in Ohio.
