Urbana University Honors Academic Achievements
May. 6th, 2013Urbana University recognized many of its top students for their academic achievements at the Honor Societies Inductions and Awards Convocation on Friday, May 3.
The College of Arts & Sciences named Marci Copley, from Kenton, as the Outstanding Communications Arts Student. Gina Grusenmeyer, from Tipp City, was awarded the Outstanding Humanities Student. The Outstanding Vernon Lestrud Theatre Student Award went to Amanda Rockhold, from Urbana. And named the Outstanding English Student was Christopher Workman, from Troy.

Urbana University Holds 121st Commencement Ceremony
May. 4th, 2013Urbana University held its 121st Commencement Ceremony on Saturday morning in the Warren G. Grimes Center gymnasium. Seventeen graduates and eighty undergraduates received their diplomas.

Grant Proposal Workshops for Non-Profits
Apr. 25th, 2013The Urbana University Foundation Center Cooperating Collection will offer three free “Grant Proposal Writing Basics” workshops for nonprofit organizations and interested individuals. The workshops are on Thursday, May 16 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon; Monday, May 20 from 2 – 4 p.m., and Tuesday, June 4 from 6 – 8 p.m. Participants need to attend only one session. The workshop will be led by Cooperating Collection Supervisor Julie McDaniel. Read More
Urbana University Welcomes Peterson as Interim President
Apr. 15th, 2013Dr. J. Steven Polsley, chair of the Urbana University Board of Trustees, welcomed Dr. Kirk E. Peterson as the interim president at meetings with student leadership, faculty, and staff on Monday. During his career in higher education, Dr. Peterson has served as faculty member, department chair, college dean, and associate provost. At Urbana University, he served for the past three years as senior vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty. Dr. Peterson earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and two master of science degrees and a PhD from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
