UU Awards Academic Excellence for 2011-2012 Year
URBANA, Ohio (April 19, 2012) - Academic excellence will be recognized during the 2012 Urbana University Awards Convocation on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Warren G. Grimes Center. All five colleges will announce the recipients of outstanding student awards and announce the names of the inductees of the honor societies.
Also recognized will be the recipient of the Richard K. Anderson Award by Mitch Joseph, director of Campus Life; Alpha Chi National Honor Society for the top members of the junior and senior classes by Dr. Jacob Daniel, associate professor of mathematics; Lambda Sigma Honor Society for second year students by Ms. Kathy Bumbalough, assistant professor of education; the Urbana University Academic Honor Society by Dr. Mary Anne Frazee, professor of biology; and the announcement of the Class of 2012 Valedictorian by Dr. Kirk Peterson, senior vice president for Academic Affairs.
Prior to the Awards Convocation, the nine national honor societies will hold their induction ceremonies.
