Alumni Relations Welcomes Grusenmeyer, Hower, and Hotham to Alumni Advisory Board

The Office of Alumni Relations recently appointed three new members to the Alumni Advisory Board. The new Board members began serving in February 2012.


Kiya Starr Hunt, a 2000 graduate from Pickerington, Ohio currently serves as the chair of the Alumni Advisory Board.  Amy Kemp, a 2000 graduate from Troy, Ohio, serves as the Alumni Advisory co-chair.  Owen Donelon, a 2011 graduate from Cleveland, Ohio, is the secretary.


The board's new members are:  Gina Grusenmyer, an anticipated 2012 graduate from Tipp City; Greg Hower, a 2001 graduate from Urbana; Sarah Hotham, an anticipated 2012 graduate from Marysville.


Gina Grusenmeyer plans to graduate in May of 2012.  She is from Tipp City, Ohio and majoring in pre-dental biology.  Grusenmeyer is a member of the Royal Blues Color Guard and the University Choir.  She is also U-Team Leader.  After graduation, Gina plans to enter officer training school in the Air Force. 


Sarah Hotham anticipates a 2012 graduation.  She is majoring in early childhood education and is from Marysville, Ohio. Hotham is returning to the U-Team after a successful first year in the program. She is involved on campus as a Student Ambassador, president of the Student Activities Committee, Royal Blues Color Guard, and was instrumental in planning Urbana's first 'Rally for a Reason' to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  Hotham was the 2011 Homecoming Queen.


Greg Hower works as an agent for West Central Ohio Network.  He has more than 10 years of experience in marketing and has worked in several local assisted living facilities including Brookdale Living Center and the Sterling House.  He completed his bachelor’s degree in marketing at Urbana where he was a member of the men’s basketball team.  His wife, Grace, is a 2002 Urbana graduate.  They have four children, Dakota, Grant, Gavin, and Gracie.
When choosing new board members, Urbana University’s Office of Alumni Relations strives to achieve a balance of alumni from varying ethnicities, graduating years, post-collegiate professions, and geographic locations.


Comprised of 18 University graduates of varying demographics, the Board represents the diversity of more than 7, 000 Blue Knights worldwide and serves in an advisory role to the mission of the Office of Alumni Relations; to connect alumni to their alma mater and share in the daily lives of alumni.
