Urbana University Foundation
Gifts in Support of Urbana University Students

Mission Statement

The mission of the Urbana University Foundation is to provide scholarships, to honor distinguished individuals, to memorialize loved ones and to express appreciation to Urbana University.

Gifts to Fund the Future

Through the years, many individuals have found planned gifts to be an excellent method of contributing to the future of Urbana University. In addition to the personal satisfaction derived from giving, such gifts offer opportunities to minimize federal and state taxes, increasing the possibilities for effective distribution of assets. The wide degree of flexibility permitted in arranging a planned gift, while still obtaining favorable tax benefits, has contributed significantly to making charitable gifts an appealing estate-planning tool.
For example, through the mechanism of named endowment funds, one may fulfill a desire to permanently enhance the University and its programs while recognizing donors in perpetuity.

History and Governance

The Urbana University Foundation was established on October 17, 1997 as a private foundation, with current operations funded by the Urbana University not-for-profit corporation. Administered by an appointed board of directors and staff, the foundation's activities are assisted by the Urbana University Board of Trustees until the private 501(c)3 organization can operate independently. All contributions and gifts made to the Urbana University Foundation are entrusted by, and assets of the Urbana University Foundation.
