The Peace Labyrinth: Quilting the Golden Rule

Swedenborg Memorial Library

01/10/2015 08:00 AM - 02/28/2015 09:00 PM

Urbana University, through the Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund, will kick off the “Season for Nonviolence” by hosting the inspirational exhibit “Peace Labyrinth: Quilting the Golden Rule” from January 10th through February 28th at the Swedenborg Memorial Library.

The exhibit's quilts celebrate the diversity and the commonality found in 17 major religions and philosophical traditions through “The Law of Reciprocity”, also known as “The Golden Rule”. The exhibit was donated to The Dayton International Peace Museum by Janet Bear McTavish from Minnesota, who has been creating pictorial and art quilts since 1988 and has won many awards in national and international quilt shows. The University will be the first stop for this beautifully designed one of a kind display.
