Understanding Professional Etiquette
Unfortunately, not every instance you will encounter in your job search will be ruled by everyday social etiquette. An understanding of proper, professional etiquette is a must, whether you are communicating, having a meal, or meeting new colleagues at a networking or social event.
Career Services is partnering with the Student Activities Committee (SAC) to co-sponsor our first annual etiquette dinner on January 24, 2008. Students will not only learn how to network professionally, but also the proper etiquette for a business-oriented meal. This etiquette meal will include lessons on small talk, handling food during a reception, introducing oneself, as well as the dos and don’ts of dining throughout a five-course meal. This event is open to juniors and seniors and does cost $25 to participate. Space will be limited to the first 50 students who register. |
