Blue Knights Down Daemen; Defense Posts 4th Shutout

URBANA, Ohio (Sept. 4, 2005) – The Urbana University women’s soccer team improves its record to 4-1 after a 1-0 shutout win over Daemen College, N.Y. Sunday.
Junior Jessica Boy scored the game-winning goal with 2:48 remaining in the first half. Sophomore Natasha DeVita set her up with the assist. The Blue Knight defense, anchored by juniors: defenders Marge Warnement and Sarah Shope, and goalkeeper Liz Markley, have allowed just one goal in five games. The 1-0 win Sunday accounts for the fourth shutout of the 2005 season. Markley had three saves in the victory. The Blue Knights play at Geneva College this Saturday at 1 p.m.
