Blue Knights Take Third at Ironwood
WAUSEON, Ohio (Sept. 10, 2007) –The Blue Knight women’s golf team tied an Urbana University record for a combined score at the Jon Spiess Memorial Collegiate Tournament Monday.

The Blue Knights shot a team score of 365 to place third at the tournament hosted by Defiance College at the Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon, Ohio. The Findlay A and B squads took first and second.

Cortney Ertel (pictured left) led the Blue Knights with an 88. Junior Cami Anthony tied a personal best by shooting an 89. Becky Rutan, whose previous personal best was 101, broke 100 for the first time in her career and shot a 91. Kendra Billenstein shot a 97 and Katie Rupley playing in her first ever college tournament, carded a 104.

The Urbana women’s golf squad is back in action when they play on Sept. 23 in the Ohio Northern Fall Invitational at the Lost Creek Country Club.
