SOUTH CHARLESTON, Ohio (May 22, 2005) – Southeastern’s Shelby Buck (seated left) became the third member of the inaugural Urbana University’s women’s golf team, when she signed her letter of intent today at Southeastern High School.
Buck, a two-sport standout at Southeastern, will be part of the Blue Knights tradition, participating on the first women’s golf team in the 155-year history of the university.
She was awarded as 1st Team Clark County, 1st Team All-Area, and 1st Team for the Ohio Heritage Conference, and 1st Team Clark County tournament. She was also named Most Valuable Player in 2004.
Urbana University women’s golf coach is very excited to have Buck join the Blue Knights.
“Shelby has a strong desire to succeed and she’s a coach’s dream because she is willing to take instruction,” said Howell.
“She has proved herself at the high school level and is ready to move the next level,” added Howell.
The Urbana women’s golf team will begin competing in the fall of 2005.
