Urbana Picks Up First AMC Win Over Wilberforce
URBANA, Oh (Jan. 8, 2007)—The Urbana University women’s basketball team improved their record to 9-3 on the season and 1-0 in the American Mideast Conference as they topped Wilberforce 62-55 to open up conference play.
Sarah Branham came off the bench to lead the Blue Knights with 18 points and seven rebounds. Haley Fannon continued to be an offensive threat as she added 15 points. Tia Simms added nine points and five assits while Valerie Feldmeyer added 8 points.
The Blue Knights will travel to the University of Rio Grande on Saturday to take on the No. 21-ranked Redwomen with game time at 2 p.m.
