Blue Knights Fall To AMC #1 Mount Vernon
Urbana, Oh (Oct. 16, 2007)—The Urbana University volleyball team put up a fight but couldn’t find a way to knock off American Mideast Conference undefeated Mount Vernon Nazarene University as they dropped the match 0-3, 22-30, 26-30, 26-30. The loss drops the Blue Knights to 11-14 overall and 3-6 in the AMC.

The Blue Knights were led at the net by sophomore Heather Powers with 17 kills. Freshman setter Audree Castle ran the offensive attack with 33 assists. Junior libero Maria Wuebker led the defense with 22 digs. Senior Lisa Schulte had an all around game with 13 digs and eight kills. She also added two solo blocks and two blocks assists. A trio of Blue Knights posted good blocking games as sophomore Jacie Peters and junior Jessica Foxbower each had two solo blocks and seven block assists. Junior Kelly Boyer added two solo and five assisted. Peters also contributed on offense with nine kills.

Urbana will return to action on Saturday as they travel to Mt. St. Joesph for a tri-match before returning to league play on Wednesday as they head south to face off against Shawnee State University.
