URBANA,Oh (Jan. 18, 2007) -- Coach Nicole Pluger and the Urbana University softball program are proud to announce the signing of a letter of intent by Brittany Ziepfel of Ross High School to play softball and study at Urbana University. Ziepfel, of Hamilton, Oh, can contribute to more than one position as she plays middle infield and outfield. In her three seasons at Ross High School, Ziepfel has garnered All-Conference honors twice as well as leading her team to the Fort Ancient Valley Conference championship all three years. In her sophomore season, Ross was the State Runner-Up. She has twice been named Best Defensive player as well as being named Most Improved in her sophomore year. Ross won a District Championship last season as well. Besides her high school accomplishments, Ziepfel is also a member of the Cincinnati Elite traveling team who have taken part in the 2005 ASA Northern National Championship, 2005 Disney President's Day Winter National Championship, the 2006 Aunt Rosie's Championship, as well as the 2007 The Dome Championship.
