Blue Knights miss NAIA Region IX Tournament cut
URBANA, Ohio (May 1, 2008) – The Blue Knight softball team was one run from advancing to the NAIA Region IX tournament. Urbana University needed to win one-of-two in its American Mideast Conference doubleheader against Mount Vernon Nazarene University Thursday. The Cougars, which needed to win both games to earn a playoff berth, squeaked out a 2-1 win in game one and ran away in the nightcap with an 8-1 victory. [more]

URBANA, Ohio (April 29, 2008) – The Blue Knight softball team dropped a pair of American Mideast Conference games, 6-5 and 7-0, to visiting Ohio Dominican (20-25, 13-5 AMC) Tuesday. The setbacks hurt Urbana’s (18-17, 9-9 AMC) chances of making the NAIA Region IX playoffs, but with one win against Mount Vernon in an AMC doubleheader Thursday, the Blue Knights will secure a berth. Urbana falls in 12-inning marathon; bounce back with 7-0 shutout
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (April 24, 2008) – The Blue Knights took one of two American Mideast Conference games from Shawnee State at Doc Singleton Field Thursday. The Bears scraped out a 9-8 win in a 12-inning marathon game, and Urbana took care of business in game two, shutting out SSU, 7-0. [more]

Senior Jackie Masur Named AMC Player of the Week
Masur hit .583 for the week and safely in every game
Urbana third baseman Jackie Masur has been selected the AMC Player of the Week in softball for games played on April 14-20.

Masur, a 5-foot-7 senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, batted .583 as the AMC Player of the Week. She hit safely in all eight games by going 14-for-24 at the plate with two doubles, 12 RBI’s, and six runs scored.

Masur recorded four multi-hit games including a pair of three-hit performances. She guided the Blue Knights to a 6-2 week which improved their record to 15-12 overall and 6-4 AMC.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio (April 22, 2008) – The Blue Knight softball team split its American Mideast Conference doubleheader against Cedarville University Tuesday. Blue Knights take two from Panthers on the road
COLUMBUS (April 20, 2008) – The Blue Knight softball team closed out a very successful week by sweeping Ohio Dominican University (14-21, 8-4 AMC) Sunday in an American Mideast Conference doubleheader, taking game one, 9-1, and closing out the weekend with an 11-1 victory. With four AMC wins this weekend – two against first-place ODU and two against second place Rio Grande Saturday – Urbana (15-12, 6-4 AMC) vaulted to third in the conference South Division standings. Urbana Captures Key AMC Victories Over Rio
Blue Knights win season series, 3-1

RIO GRANDE, Ohio (April 19, 2008)-The Blue Knight softball team won two against American Mideast Conference opponent Rio Grande (23-13, 12-4 AMC) on Saturday. In the first game the Blue Knights were tied 2-2 going into the seventh when they scored seven runs making the final score 9-2. The second game was similar as the Blue Knights held the lead but used a monster seventh inning, scorings six runs to take a big lead and a 9-3 win over the Redwomen. [more]

Blue Knights Split with Wilmington
WILMINGTON, Ohio (April 17, 2008) – The Blue Knight softball team split a non-conference doubleheader against Wilmington College at the WC Softball Complex. The Quakers took game one in six innings, 9-1, and Urbana bounced back with a 6-2 victory.

Urbana (11-12) struggled with hitting in game one, only registering four base hits, while Wilmington couldn’t miss, belting out 17. In game two, sophomore pitcher Jessie Swinderman pitched a gem of a game for Urbana, striking out six and giving up just three hits. Swinderman had plenty of run support as the Blue Knights collected 13 hits. Senior Erin Dowdell led the way, going 3-for-3 with a double. Freshman Tami Lasley was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI. Juniors Erica Schroeder and Jessica Tuttle each had two hits.

Urbana Bats Bury Cedarville in Game Two

URBANA, Ohio (April 15, 2008) – The Urbana University softball team saved all of its hits for the second game of an American Mideast Conference double header against Cedarville University Tuesday at Blue Knight Field. The Yellow Jackets won the first game, 4-1, holding Urbana to just four hits. The Blue Knight bats came alive in game two, as Urbana rallied for a 10-1 win, using 13 hits. [more]

Blue Knights Go 1-1 Against Cavaliers
NORTH CANTON , Ohio (April 5, 2008) – The Blue Knight softball team split a non-conference doubleheader Saturday at Walsh (16-6). The Cavaliers dominated game one and dealt Urbana a 9-1 loss in five innings. The Blue Knights responded with a one-run victory, 4-3, in the nightcap. Walsh had two homeruns, including a three-run dinger from starting pitcher Dana Harting (10-2) and jumped up 9-0 after three innings. Junior Jessica Tuttle had a double for the Blue Knights (8-9).

Urbanan freshman pitcher Danielle Finley (2-1) held the Cavalier bats in check in the second game, striking out six and holding Walsh to just three runs. The Blue Knights got RBIs from junior Erica Schroeder, who went 2-for-4 with a double, sophomore Linsey Manning, freshman Maria Hendricks and senior Erin Dowdell.

Blue Knights Go .500 on Spring Break
Urbana softball drops final two games to NCAA opponents
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (March 7, 2008) – The Blue Knights closed out the Rebel Spring Games with a 5-5 record, losing both of their games to NCAA D-II opponents on the final day of the tournament. In the first game, Urbana lost to Wilmington, Del., 4-1. The Blue Knights closed out with a 9-1 loss in five innings to perennial powerhouse Le Moyne College, N.Y. The Dolphins outhit Urbana, 12-3. Erica Schroeder, Brittany Huenen and Jackie Masur notched the Blue Knights' only hits of the game.

Blue Knight Bats Come Alive

Urbana picks up two victories in one-run decisions
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (March 4, 2008) – The Blue Knight softball team belted out 18 hits and improved to 4-2 after winning two one-run ballgames Tuesday at the Rebel Spring Games. Urbana started the morning with a 3-2 victory over St. Francis, Ill. (4-1), handing the Saints their first loss of the 2008 season. The victory was also redemption for the Blue Knights who suffered a 1-0 setback to USF just a day earlier. 2008 Urbana University Softball Outlook
Coming off of a 2007 campaign that saw the Blue Knight softball team win Urbana University’s first-ever regular season American Mideast Conference championship, Head Coach Nikki Pluger has great expectations for her 2008 squad. The Blue Knights return seven starters from the championship team that went 23-24 overall and 10-4 in AMC play; plus Pluger brought in 10 talented recruits. [more]

Blue Knights Earn Votes in Preseason Poll
URBANA, Ohio (February 1, 2008) – The Urbana University softball team received votes in the 2008 NAIA Preseason Top 25 poll which was released today.

The 2007 American Mideast Conference South Division regular season champions, the Blue Knights received five votes in the first poll of the 2008 season. Urbana is the highest ranking AMC team in the poll. Fellow south division team, Ohio Dominican received one vote in the preseason poll. [more]

Blue Knights Honored

URBANA, Ohio (Sept. 22, 2007) – The Urbana University 2007 softball team was honored at halftime of the Blue Knights' 45-13 win over St. Francis (IL) Saturday at Ellis Field. The squad won the 2007 American Mideast Conference regular season championship. Head Coach Nikki Pluger was named AMC and Region IX Coach of the Year.

Urbana Adds Berkheimer to Roster For Spring

RBANA, Oh (June 18, 2007)-- Head softball coach Nicole Pluger is proud to announce the addition of Megan Berkheimer to the 2008 Urbana University softball roster. Berkheimer was a standout catcher at Sheridan High School for coach Megan McFarland. While at Sheridan, Berkheimer hit .480 her senior year with 27 RBI's while throwing out 17 of 18 stealing as a catcher with a .976 fielding percentage. She was awarded All-MVL her junior and senior seasons as well as being named to the All-District team both years as well. Megan was also awarded the Coaches' Award her senior season. In 2005-06, she traveled with Coast to Coast softball in play in Australia. She is the daughter of David and Anita Berkheimer. She will be an Athletic Training major at Urbana.

Blue Knights Ink Another for 2008 Roster

URBANA, Oh (May 29, 2007)-- Urbana University Head Softball coach Nicole Pluger is proud to announce the signing of Toledo Start High School standout Erin Lein. Lein was a three-year varsity starter at Toledo Start and played for the Lady Irish summer traveling team which won state. She hit over .300 in the fall season. She is the daughter of Valerie and Jack Lein. She is an undecided major at Urbana University.

Urbana Adds Pitcher for 2008 Season

URBANA, Oh (May 29, 2007)-- Urbana University Head Softball coach Nicole Pluger is please to announce the addition of Jessie Swinderman to the Blue Knight Softball program. Swinderman, of Sheridan High School, was a three-time Muskingum Valley League First Team selection as well as being named the league MVP in her sophomore season. She was named a two-time All-District First team player and was named the All-Southeast District Player of the Year as a junior and earned All-Ohio honors twice. She broke the Sheridan record for games won in a single season and ERA in a single season with a .51 and career ERA with a .93.  She is a transfer from West Liberty State College. She is the daughter of Jack and Karen Swinderman. Jessie plans to major in Education at Urbana University

Blue Knights Season Comes to an End at Regionals
URBANA, Oh (May 11, 2007)-- It took an extra inning to finish the game, but that extra inning didn't fall in favor of Urbana as the Blue Knights fell to Notre Dame College 4-5 in eight innings. The game marks the last for Blue Knight seniors Katie Mallett and Beth Hufford.

Knights Fall to Tiffin;
Play Again Today

URBANA, Oh (May 11, 2007)-- The Blue Knights couldn't get the hits they needed as they were out-hit by Tiffin 11-3 on the way to a 2-7 loss in the semi-final round of the Region IX tournament. The Blue Knights will face off today against Notre Dame College again today and the winner of that game will face Tiffin University in the finals. Brittany Heunen had the only two RBIs of the game on a triple in the third.

Urbana Wins Second Round In Bottom of Seventh
URBANA, Oh (May 9, 2007)-- The Blue Knights moved into the third round of the Region IX softball tournament as they defeated Notre Dame College 5-4. Urbana scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, including the game winner on a balk. Erin Dowdell and Jackie Masur were both 2 for 3 with an RBI.

URBANA, Oh (May 9, 2007)-- The Urbana University softball team defeated St. Joseph of Vermont 8-0 in the first round of the Region IX/X tournament. The Blue Knights pummled them as they run-ruled them in five innings behind strong hitting. Katie Cramer led the Knights going 2 for 3 at the plate with two RBIs.

Urbana Falls to Tiffin;
Will Play Wednesday at Tiffin
URBANA, Oh (May 4, 2007)-- The Blue Knights couldn't overcome the massive array of hits from the Dragons and they out hit Urbana 13-3 on their way to to a 7-1 win in the Region IX seeding game. All three of Urbana's hits came in the same innning as Ashley Siembieda had one RBI. Katie Cramer took the loss on the mound. The Blue Knights will play Wednesday at 10 a.m. on field two of the tournament which will be hosted by Tiffin.

Knights Split Double-Header With Tiffin
Deciding Game Friday at Noon

URBANA, Oh (May 3, 2007)-- 4-3 was the score of the day, first in favor of Tiffin, and then in favor of the Knights. The close games were the first of the now three games that will decided the number one seed for the Region IX tournament as well as who will host. In game one, Urbana was led by Jackie Masur as she went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Jessica Tuttle tried to bring the Blue Knights back with a long ball in the bottom of the seventh but it wasn't enough. Andrea Chaney was given the loss. In game two, Urbana fell behind 1-3 before a two-run homer by Linsey Manning tied it up with Masur collecting the RBI for the winning run. Masur again led Urbana going 3 for 4 with an RBI. Manning had two RBIs. Katie Cramer earned the win on the mound. Urbana will face Tiffin again tomorrow in a single deciding game with start time set for 12 noon.

Masur Named AMC Player of the Week
URBANA, Oh (May 3, 2007)-- Urbana University third baseman Jackie Masur was named the American Mideast Conference player of the week. Masur, a 5-foot-9 junior, batted .571 to lead Urbana to a 3-1 week and a share of the Blue Knight's first conference title in school history. She had eight hits in 14 at bats with three doubles, two homers, and 11 RBI's.

 

Blue Knights Make History
URBANA, Oh (May 1, 2007)-- After defeating Malone on Saturday to take a share of the league title, the Blue Knights of the Urbana University softball team made history. Little did they know that this was the first American Mideast Conference championship in Urbana University's history since the AMC formed in 1998. Urbana was previously a member of the Mid-Ohio Conference that changed its name to the American Mideast Conference in 1998, just in time for the league's 50th anniversary. Urbana has won conference tournaments in other sports since the AMC began, but never a regular-season title. Urbana has won titles in the past under the MOC, winning crowns in women's and men's basketball and men's golf.

Urbana Will Host Regional Seeding Game
URBANA, Oh (April 30, 2007)-- With the South Division crown under their belt, the Urbana University softball team will take on Tiffin University, the North winner, in a double-header on Thursday, May 3 beginning at 3 p.m. in order to figure out the number one and two seeds for the regional tournament. If they split on Thursday, there will be a single game at noon on Friday, May 4.

Blue Knights Win Pair At Malone;
Tie for AMC South Division Crown

URBANA, Oh (April 30, 2007)-- The Urbana University softball team came away from this weekend's double-header at Malone with a pair of W's, winning game one in an extra inning 9-8 and then piling on the runs in game two in a 14-2 run rule. With the wins, and an ODU split, Urbana will share the league South Division crown with Ohio Dominican as they both finish of conference play at 10-4. Urbana will take the #1 seed into conference tournaments because they swept ODU in league play. In game one Saturday, the Knights had to battle into extra innings before Katie Mallett got on base and then stole third in order to set up Jackie Masur to drive in the winning run with a sacrifice as they held Malone in the bottom of the inning. Masur finished the game with four RBIs. Andrea Chaney and Katie Cramer split time on the mound with Cramer being awarded the win. In the second game, Urbana only needed five innings as the offense exploded for 14 runs. Mallett and Masur led the Knights with four RBIs a piece as Mallett with 3-4 and Masur 3-3. Linsey Manning had three RBIs including a lead-off homerun in the fourth to start off Urbana's seven-run inning. Kristen Buckles got the win for Urbana allowing only four hits.

Blue Knights Lose Game, Take Game at Cedarville
URBANA, Oh (April 25-2007)-- The Urbana University softball team split a conference double header with Cedarville falling in game one 1-2 and then taking game two 5-3. In game one the offense was scarce for the Blue Knights as they only collected three hits, one of which was a solo homer by Jackie Masur that ended up being the Knights only score of the game. Kristen Buckles took the loss for UU. In game two, Urbana had an offensive explosion as they collected 15 hits, but only scored five runs. Masur added her second homer of the day only this time it was a two-run shot to left field. Senior Beth Hufford led with three hits including a double. Masur and Erin Dowdell each drove in two RBIs. Buckles earned the win on the mound for the Knights.

Urbana Splits With Shawnee State
URBANA, Oh (April 23, 2007)-- The Blue Knight softball team kept itself in the race for first place as they split a double-header with AMC opponent Shawnee State. Urbana came out to win game one 3-1. UU saw three players collect two hits while another three each had an RBI. Andrea Chaney picked up the win. Game two didn't go as planned for the Knights as they fell 4-5. Jackie Masur led the offense with three hits and two RBIs. Katie Cramer took the loss on the mound.

Knights Take Two Games From Ohio Dominican
URBANA, Oh (April 20, 2007)-- The Urbana University softball team swept a double header against league-leading Ohio Dominican University 6-5 and 6-0 to improve to 6-2 in the conference as ODU falls to 9-3. Game one was tied most of the game until the top of the seventh when ODU went up by one but Urbana came through in the bottom of the seventh as they put two runs on the board. Katie Cramer led the offensive charge going 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Linsey Manning hit a two-run homer and Kristen Buckles earned the win on the mound. In game two, senior Katie Mallet made the most of her last home game as she led the offense going 3-4 with three RBIs including a two-run shot over the fence in the third. Cramer threw the four-hit shutout for the win.

Notre Dame Downs Urbana In Non-Conference Action
URBANA, Oh (April 20, 2007)-- The Urbana University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games to Notre Dame College 2-5 and 4-8. In game one, Katie Cramer led with two hits and picked up an RBI as did Jackie Masur. Cramer also took the loss on the mound. In game two, Katie Mallett got the bat out with three hits and Kristen Buckles, Brittany Heunen and Linsey Manning all had an RBI. Buckles also suffered the loss on the mound. The Blue Knights head back to AMC play tonight against Ohio Dominican.

Urbana Inks Mount Notre Dame's Meyer For 2008
URBANA, Oh (April 18, 2007)-- Urbana University head softball coach Nicole Pluger is proud to announce the addition of Ashley Meyer, of Mount Notre Dame HS, to next year's roster. Meyer signed her letter of intent with the Blue Knights to compete in softball and major in Accounting/Marketing. While at Mount Notre Dame, Meyer has twice been named All-GGCL as well as All-City. She was named her teams Offensive Player of the Year last season. She is a pitcher and infielder at Mt. Notre Dame. She is the daughter of Don and Sandy Meyer.

Knights Pick Up Two Over Mount Vernon
URBANA, Oh (April 17, 2007)-- The Urbana University softball team improved their AMC record to 4-2 as they picked up a pair of wins over Mount Vernon 2-1 and 6-1. The Blue Knights were led by Katie Mallett and Linsey Manning in the first game with two hits a piece. Andrea Chaney got the win on the mound going the distance and allowing only five hits. In game two, Urbana got the offense moving after a Mount Vernon solo homer in the first left them down 0-1. That proved to be MVNU's only run as Urbana produced six led by Mallett with four hits, two of them were double. Jackie Masur led with three RBIs. Kristen Buckles got the win and Katie Cramer provided relief as the Blue Knights improve their record to 14-16 and 4-2 in the conference.

Urbana Picks Up Two Over Rio Grande
URBANA, Oh (April 10, 2007)-- The Urbana University women's softball team picked up two much needed conference wins as they defeated the visiting Redwomen of Rio Grande 6-5 and 9-1. In game one, Rio took a quick lead with two runs in the first inning and piled on three more to make the score 5-1 in favor of the Redwomen in the sixth until UU had a five run outburst and held the lead through the top of seven. Urbana was led by Katie Cramer with two hits, both of which were doubles. Kristen Buckles got the win for the Knights. In game two, Buckles got the offense moving as she lead the team with two hits and three RBIs, two of which came on a 2-run homer. Brittany Heunen also had two hits. Jackie Masur picked up two doubles as well and Erin Dowdell and Kendal Schaefer each had a two-bagger as well. Andrea Chaney allowed only four hits in five innings pitched as the mercy rule came into effect in the fifth.

Blue Knights Split Non-Conference with Marian; Lighting Calls Second Game Early
URBANA, Oh (April 3, 2007)-- The Urbana University women's softball team split a non-conference double-header with Marian College 1-3, 5-3. Game one was scoreless at the end of seven but Marian saw three runners come across the plate in the 8th while Urbana could only move one home. In game two, Urbana got the bats out early and stayed consistent at the plate led by Brittany Heunen with two hits. Kristen Buckles scored Urbana's first run with a homer in the second. Jackie Masur drove in three RBIs including two of them with a double in the fourth. Game two was called after five innings because of lighting.

Urbana Drops Two to Tiffin University
URBANA, Oh (March 29, 2007)-- The Urbana University softball team suffered two setbacks as they dropped both games of a double-header against Tiffin University, 0-3 and 1-5. In game one, junior Jackie Masur led at the plate with two hits while sophomore Andrea Chaney suffered the loss on the mound. Freshman Brittany Heunen had two hits the second game with the lone RBI. Freshman pitcher Kristen Buckles took the loss. The Knights head to AMC play on Sunday as they take on Walsh University at home with game time slated for 1 p.m.

Blue Knights Split Against University of Findlay
URBANA, Oh (March 27, 2007)-- The Urbana University softball team split a double header with the University of Findlay, falling 3-2 in the first game and rallying back for a 4-3 win in the second. In game one, Kristen Buckles, Ashley Simbieda, and Katie Cramer led the offense with two hits each but Buckles suffered the loss on the mound. In game two, Cramer went seven innings for the win while a host of Blue Knights had one hit a piece. Those hits were good enough to pull out the win as Linsey Manning hit a grounded that slid through short stops glove with bases loaded for the win. The Knights are back in action Thursday at Tiffin.

Urbana Drops Two Against Wittenberg
URBANA, Oh (March 22, 2007)-- The Blue Knight softball team dropped two games to Wittenberg 3-4 and 3-9. Urbana knocked in three runs in the fifth to go ahead 3-2 but Witt saw two more players across the plate in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Jackie Masur led the Blue Knight offense with a 2 run double in the 5th. In game two, the Knights got on the board early when Masur put two runs of the board with a two-run homer in the first but the Tigers exploded for five runs in the third to take the lead. Urbana will head into AMC play on Saturday as they host Walsh University in a double-header at 1 p.m.

Knights Split at Marian College
URBANA, Oh (March 21, 2007)-- The Urbana University softball team split a double-header with Marian College winning game one 2-0 but falling to the hosts 0-3 in game two. In game one, Andrea Chaney threw the shutout for the win. Katie Mallett and Jackie Masur each collected an RBI. In the night cap, Kendal Schaefer led the offense with three hits while Katie Mallett had two. The Blue Knights travel to Wittenberg University Thursday for a non-conference double-header.

Urbana Adds Another to 2008 Roster
URBANA, Oh (March 19, 2007)--
Urbana University Head Softball Coach Nicole Pluger is proud to announce the signing of Michaela Nenninger for the 2007-2008 season. Michaela (Kayla) comes from West Milton, Ohio attending Milton Union High School. She is a first baseman/center fielder for Milton-Union and has been a varsity starter for all four years. Kayla has obtained a fielding percentage of .992 and a batting average of .450 over the past three years. She was named by Dayton Daily News as an All-Area softball 2nd team her freshman year. Kayla has received two SWBL honorable mentions her freshman and sophomore year, and during her junior year received an SWBL 1st Team All-League selection. Kayla’s summer fast pitch experience comes from playing with the Ohio Heat “Revolution” out of Springfield, OH for the past 5 years. While participating in many tournaments traveling up and down the east coast, she’s competed against some of the top travel organizations obtaining the experience necessary to compete at the collegiate level. Kayla’s other interest include soccer which she has played 5 years on a travel team and four years varsity at her high school. She has also been an avid bowler since age 4 for the Miami County Youth Bowling Association.

Knights Split at Indiana Tech
URBANA, Oh (Mar. 13, 2007)-- The Urbana University women's softball team split a double header with Indiana Tech falling in the first game 5-4 and then coming back to beat IT 7-4 in the second game. In the second game, freshman Brittany Heunen (South Vienna) hit a two-run shot that put the Knights up 3-0. Indiana Tech battled back but the Blue Knights held on to the win. Katie Cramer got the win on the mound for Urbana. Urbana will resume play on Friday at home against Geneva in a double-header in 3 p.m.

Urbana Softball Signs Hillclimber Standout
HendricksURBANA, Oh (March 1, 2007)-- Urbana University Softball Coach Nicole Pluger signed Urbana High School softball standout Maria Hendricks for the 2008 softball season. Hendricks, of Urbana, is a first baseman for the Hillclimbers. She was named a First Team Central Buckeye Conference as a sophomore and was also a two-time CBC Honorable Mention selection. Last year, the Lady Hillclimbers went 25-7, earning a district and regional championship on their way to the State Final Four under Coach Tim West. In 2006, she was also named a Southwest District and Champaign County All-Star. She also tied a state record with two doubles in the State Semi-Final game against Circleville. Hendricks recorded a .972 fielding percentage, spending time at both first and second base. She has also played on travel teams including the Diamond Attack who made two trips to the Nationals. In travel ball, Hendricks was named a three-time All-Star. She is the daughter of Terry and Rosemary Hendricks.

Blue Knights Add Pitcher to Roster for 2008
URBANA, Oh (Feb.26, 2007)-- Head Coach Nicole Pluger inked another player for her 2008 roster with the signing of Danielle Finley of Milford High School. Finley was a 1st team All-GMC selection as well as All-Clermont County. She helped lead Milford to the Final Four in 2004. She was also named the Team's Most Valuable Player and was the Eagle Award recipient. She is the daughter of Kevin and Veronica Finley of Milford.

Northmont Standout Signs With Urbana Softball
URBANA, Oh (Feb. 26, 2007)-- Urbana University Head softball Coach Nicole Pluger is proud to announce the signing of a letter of intent by Tami Lasley. Lasley attends Northmont High school where she has been a varsity starter since her freshman year. In 2004, she was named Rookie of the Year, All-Conference and was voted one of the Top 10 fast pitch players to watch in the Miami Valley Sports Magazine. In 2005, she earned Offensive Player of the Year honors as well as All-Conference while helping Northmont go 24-4 with a league championship. She pitched 10 shutouts and four no-hitters while going 15-3 on the mound with a .36 ERA. Lasley also was the Greater Ohio Western Conference Player of Year as well as an All-State selection. She is also a member of the Cincinnati Elite travel team who won the ASA North Nationals in 2005.

Urbana goes 2-3 in Tourney;
Finishes .500 for Fall
NORTH LEWISBURG,Oh (Oct. 14, 2006)-- The Blue Knights finished 2-3 in a tournament held in North Lewisburg that hosted teams from all college divisions such as Ohio State, Wright State, Shawnee State, Ohio Dominican, Findlay, Ohio Northern, and Cedarville. Urbana won its games against Ohio Northern and Cedarville Univeristy. "The girls played well all weekend," said Head Coach Nicole Pluger. Jackie Masur was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts. For the fall season, the Blue Knights went 6-6 but Coach Pluger is looking foward to the spring season. " There were lots of good things this fall. We saw what we needed to work on and I look foward to the spring."
