Snyder Scores Twice in Urbana’s Victory
Blue Knights improve to 2-2-2 with win over Daemen
URBANA, Ohio (Sept. 15, 2007) – Sophomore Jon Snyder prospers on the Blue Knights’ Ellis Field. The speedy forward has scored five goals this season and four have been at home. He scored twice in Urbana’s 2-1 double overtime victory over Daemen (3-3) this Saturday.
The Wildcats scored first in the 26th minute and hung on to the 1-0 lead at the half. Snyder scored his first goal of the game in the 71st minute. After having his penalty kick blocked long by the Daemen keeper, Snyder’s rebound found the back of the net.
More than 31 minutes later, in the second overtime, Snyder would put the game away on a finesse shot over the keeper. In Urbana’s home opener vs. Point Park, Snyder also scored two goals, including the game winner. Senior goalkeeper Ryan Michaels had five saves in goal, including a spectacular diving stop in the second overtime.
Urbana (2-2-2) hosts St. Francis, Ind. Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Ellis Field.
