Drake Named All-AMC
URBANA, Ohio (March 5, 2008) – The 2007-08 all-AMC South Division Men’s Basketball teams were announced today and Urbana University senior power forward Allen Drake (Toledo, Ohio/Start HS) was named honorable mention all-American Mideast Conference. Drake, who stands at 6-foot-4, led the Blue Knight in rebounding with 6.3 boards per game. He was second in scoring, averaging 9.4 ppg.

Davis Signs with IBL's Holland Blast
(Feb. 14, 2008) -- Former Urbana University basketball standout and 2006 graduate Antonio Davis signed with the International Basketball League’s (IBL) Holland Blast in Holland, Mich.
According to usbasket.com the 6-foot-6 Davis is expected to play a featured role for the Blast along side point guard, Dennis Springs (Ferris State). The web site also stated “The expectations are for Davis to continue putting up numbers en route to a prosperous professional playing career. CEDARVILLE, Ohio (Feb. 14, 2008) – The Blue Knights trailed by just one, 33-32, at the half to the 22nd ranked Cedarville Yellow Jackets (17-7, 7-4 AMC) at the Callan Athletic Center, but were outscored 49-26 in the second stanza, and fell 82-58 Thursday night in a game rescheduled due to inclement weather Tuesday. Senior Harold Haynes paced Urbana with a team-high 16 points, while junior Charles Jefferson added 13 points. Senior Allen Drake had a team-high 11 rebounds. Urbana Grad Featured on "Streetball" Extravaganza
URBANA, Ohio (January 31, 2008) – Urbana University graduate and former Blue Knight basketball player Mick Dejene’ will be featured at The First Annual “Streetball” Extravaganza held at Central State University this Saturday, Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Dejene’, who graduated from Urbana in May of 2007 with a business degree, goes by “SlowMotion” on the tour that has been seen on ESPN, And1, Ball 4 real and MTV. Dejene, a Trotwood native, played three years at Urbana for Coach Paul Bryant.
“Mick is a great ball handler and is certainly a showman on the court,” said Bryant. “I am proud that he has followed his dream and used his experience from Urbana University to assist in his quest to play professional basketball.”
Dejene’ is one of several Blue Knights to play professional basketball, including: Darren Gettis, Baboucarr Njie, Antonio Davis, Josh Davis, Brian Kortovich and Will Hall.

Urbana suffers 83-67 setback
URBANA, Ohio (January 19, 2008) – The Blue Knights fell, 83-67, to Ohio Dominican Saturday at the Grimes Center Gymnasium in American Mideast Conference action. The Panthers owned a 41-32 lead at the half and dominated on the boards, out rebounding Urbana, 45-22 for the game. Junior David Brown paced Urbana with 15 points and five assists, while fellow junior Dorian Hoover chipped in 14 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots. Junior Chuck Jefferson also scored in double figures, contributing 12 points. Senior Allen Drake had a solid stat line of nine points and a team-high eight rebounds. ODU's Jim McCurdy led all scorers with 21 points. He drained seven treys. The AMC's leading rebounder Brian Busch of ODU padded his stats with a double-double of 15 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. The Blue Knights' AMC schedule doesn't get any easier. They have back-to-back road games against nationally ranked opponents. Urbana plays at NAIA No. 2 Walsh on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. and then at No. 5 Mount Vernon on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Urbana held a 31-27 lead at the half, but couldn't hold on for the league win, shooting just 17.6 percent from the field in the second period. WILBERFORCE, Ohio (January 8, 2008) – Despite having five players score in double figures, the Blue Knight men’s basketball team fell, 98-90 in their American Mideast Conference opener against Wilberforce University Tuesday night. Urbana (1-11, 0-1 AMC) was paced by senior Julian Bernard’s 15 points. Senior Andre’ Wiggins chipped in 13 points, while juniors Dorian Hoover and Charles Jefferson added 12 points apiece. Senior Joe Williams was the fifth player to reach double figure scoring with his 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting, including 2-of-2 from three-point land.
Rawlston Charles charged Wilberforce (7-7, 1-0 AMC) with 32 points. Andre Lyles added 26 points. The Bulldogs owned a 50-44 lead at the half.
