Garberich Inks with Blue Knight Golf
URBANA, Ohio (August 10, 2007) – Chad Garberich, a native of Crestline, Ohio and a transfer from Faulkner State, signed a letter of intent today, committing to Urbana University to play golf.

Garberich is a 6-foot-0 golfer who brings plenty of experience to the Blue Knights. He played a season at Faulkner State for coach Leo Kling III and was named to the all-tournament team of the Soldier’s Creek Tournament.

“Chad brings a wealth of experience and confidence to the team,” said Urbana University head men’s golf coach Scott Knick. “His time at Faulkner State will make it an easy transition. He has a year of college golf to his credit. That experience coming in is valuable to the team. He will contribute good scores as well as solid leadership.”

Garberich was a standout golfer at Crestline High School, earning first-team all-conference for four consecutive years. He led his team to a seventh place finish at the state golf tournament and a 24-0 regular season record his senior year. He holds Crestline’s record for lowest season average and lowest score.

“I think with Chad signing, as well as some of our returners, we have a strong team for next season,” said Knick. “He will fit in well with the team because he is a good, strong player and has a great work ethic. Chad will bring in a new level of competition.”

Garberich intends to study sports management at Urbana. He is the son of Steve and Lana Garberich, of Crestline, Ohio.
