WL-S Grad Signs with Urbana Golf
URBANA, Ohio (July 13, 2007) – Bryan Effingham, a graduate of West Liberty-Salem High School, signed a letter of intent today, committing to Urbana University to play golf.

“I’m very excited to continue my golf career at Urbana University. Not many people get an opportunity like this,” said Effingham. “I’ve always enjoyed playing and I hope to improve with each season I play.”

Effingham, a 5-foot-11 native of Urbana, Ohio, was named first team All-OHC his senior year for the WL-S Tigers. He was also an All-Area selection his junior and senior seasons. Effingham averaged a 39 this season and was runner-up of the Wendy’s Junior Classic held at Liberty Hills Golf Club.

“ Bryan is a local golfer who can showcase his talents close to home,” said Urbana University head men’s golf coach Scott Knick. “His course management skills and dedication to improving his short game will help contribute to his success at this level.”

The son of Keith and Cindy Effingham, he intends to study business at Urbana.

“I would like to thank my parents for helping me get this far,” said Effingham. “I also want to thank Coach (Darrin) Leichty for working with me to improve my game.”
