A Winning Homecoming Celebration

URBANA, Ohio (October 18, 2011)

The Urbana University community celebrated the 2011 Homecoming with festivities held on Saturday, October 15. An overflow crowd at Blue Knight Stadium cheered as the Knights defeated the visiting Pumas from Saint Joseph's College, Rensselaer, IN by a score of 42-0.

More than 3,300 students, staff, alumni, and community members participated in the Homecoming activities, including the football game, Tailgating Buffet, Party Tent hosted by the Alumni Advisory Board, alumni softball game, alumni band and cheerleading gatherings, and children's activities sponsored by student organizations. Alumni attending the event represented classes spanning at least 45 years of Urbana University's history.

Sarah Hotham, a senior from Marysville was crowned the 2011 Homecoming Queen during halftime. Alongside Sarah were the 2011 Faculty King and Queen, assistant professors Dr. Michael Rhyne and Ms. Kathy Bumbalough, MEd '2000.

The blustery sunny day was sponsored by ESPN/WING 1410 radio, Security Bank, and White's Ford.
