About Urbana
Founded in 1850, Urbana University is proud to offer a liberal arts education in a small college environment emphasizing student learning through individual attention, excellence in instruction, career-oriented programs, and critical reflection on moral and ethical values.
Urbana is a private, liberal arts university nestled in Urbana, Ohio, on a small but growing campus that is small enough to foster close connections between faculty and students, and large enough to provide cutting-edge programs.
Our vibrant 128-acre campus in west central Ohio is a blend of modern and traditional architecture. Comprised of 16 buildings and 5 residence halls, our campus offers the safety of a small town with the convenience of being less than an hour from the major metropolitan areas of Columbus and Dayton.
Urbana University students are a diverse mix of men and women from Ohio, 18 other states, and 8 foreign countries. It was the second institution of higher education in Ohio to admit women and the first in the state to offer a nontraditional degree completion program.
