Brief Description
The Early Childhood Education program at Urbana University allows for successful candidates to develop the knowledge, skills and dispositions to become effective early childhood education professionals (PreK-3). Candidates completing the Early Childhood program will grow to welcome all learners, expect high outcomes, and inspire greatness from all students. Candidates in the Early Childhood Education program will experience a variety of coursework and field experiences as they progress towards program completion. Upon completion of program requirements, candidates are eligible to apply for a teaching license.
The Early Childhood Education program at Urbana University is dedicated to ensuring that the teacher candidates have a wide array of educational settings throughout their field and clinical experiences. Candidates are placed at partner schools that will provide the teacher candidates with experiences that are diverse, rich in technology, and excellent in teaching practices.
Cooperating teachers for pre-service candidates are highly qualified teachers that boast significant experience in the field. The field and clinical experiences in Urbana University’s teacher education programs begin after the candidate is accepted to the Early Childhood Education program.
