The William G. Edwards Honors Program

At Urbana University, we recognize that students are more than test scores and GPAs.

Urbana’s William G. Edwards Honors Program is made up of intellectually curious and academically motivated students with a strong record of accomplishments both inside and outside the classroom. 

Our philosophy when it comes to the Honors Program is richer not harder. We help you build on the skills and accomplishments you already have, by providing diverse experiences that can include study abroad, internships or research projects. In the end, you’ll be well-prepared for the job market, for graduate or professional school, and for leadership roles in the community.

Program Profile

The Urbana University Honors Program maintains high standards for its students. Our current Honors Program students:

  • Have an average high school GPA: 3.915 and a Median ACT: 26
  • Are active in athletics including volleyball, swimming, cross country, football, softball and soccer
  • Participate in campus activities including plays, band and choir, and academic honor societies

Applying to the Program

Admission to the program is comprehensive and based on a number of areas, including (in alphabetical order):
