Her diverse professional experiences in business, higher-education administration and public health have uniquely suited her to support doctors and healthcare professionals as they adapt to keep pace with today’s fast-changing healthcare administrative environment.

Program Outcomes

The program is designed for non-business majors.  No pre-requisites, no entrance exams, and no workbooks to complete prior to entering the program.  In just nine courses, students receive skills to become leaders in the healthcare field.  All students start with MBA Essentials, which acts as a foundation to the rest of the program.

Courses may be taken in any order after that until the final course, Business Strategy of the Healthcare Industry.  Each course focuses on the business needs of physicians and is worth four credits.

  • BSG 503 – Management Science and Operations Management for Health Care Organizations
  • BSG 504 – Leadership and Organizational Behavior within the Health Care Sector
  • BSG 505 – Managerial Accounting for Health Care Managers
  • BSG 506 – Marketing Strategy for Health Care Organizations
  • BSG 507 – Managerial Finance for Health Care Facilities
  • BSG 508 – International Health Care Insurance Business Models
  • BSG 600 – Business Strategy of the Health Care Industry

Steps 1-3 should be completed concurrently

    • Fill in only the boxes with a *. You do not need to pay the application fee. 
  2. Apply for Financial Aid (optional)
    • Fill out (or update) the FAFSA form:
    • Include Urbana code 003133 on the application.
    • Immediately apply for financial aid; DO NOT WAIT FOR A DECISION
  3. Request official transcripts from only the school granting your bachelor’s degree
    • Official transcript from the school where you earned your bachelor’s degree must be sent directly to Urbana.

      Please note that transcripts from institutions outside of the United States will require a WES (World Education Services) credential evaluation prior to consideration. 
    • Mail official transcripts to:

    • Emailed transcripts to are acceptable only if the issuing institution provides electronic transcript service.
  4. Provide supplemental admission documents by application deadline
    • Include resume, personal statement and 2 letters of reference in application.
  5. Once accepted, registration information will be emailed
