Licensure Programs

As a university committed to serving the educators of our region, we believe that one of the key services we provide involves equipping students for careers as teachers in local school districts.

Consequently, in addition to providing degree programs in education, Urbana University also offers curricula that lead to teacher licensure with the State of Ohio.

Please note that we provide the courses needed to satisfy the licensure requirements. Once you have completed these course requirements, you must contact the Ohio Department of Education to apply for and secure the license.

Urbana University offers the following teacher licensure programs to serve individuals who already possess a bachelor’s degree:

Generalist License (for licensed teachers who seek licensure to teach grades 4-6)

Post-Baccalaureate License (for those with a bachelor’s degree who seek initial licensure)
