Congratulations on your acceptance to Urbana University! To help you make a smooth transition to the University, below are a few things to begin taking care of!
Summer Orientation is designed for you to lay a solid foundation of success by introducing you to the people at Urbana University. All new students planning to attend Urbana University are required to attend one Summer Orientation session. During Summer Orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet classmates, finalize your fall class schedule, receive your Knightnet username and password, and find out about the many resources available to you at Urbana University.
Welcome Weekend is designed to help you get settled at Urbana University. Required for first-year students, Welcome Weekend will be filled with activities allowing you to get to know your classmates and prepare you for the fall semester. Welcome Weekend kicks off with new-student move-in on Friday, August 15.
The final first-year program, that actually extends throughout the fall semester, is UNI. This is a class, known as your U-Team, that meets once a week with a professor and an upper-class U-Team Leader. During Summer Orientation, you will be assigned to one of twenty U-Teams during course registration. In this group, you will discuss a variety of items throughout the term to help you become a stronger student and member of the Urbana University community! |
