Summer Orientation Registration

There are three date options for Summer Orientation —June 6, 27, or July 18. Transfer Students may register for classes on July 17 or August 15. To register, simply complete the enclosed form and return it to the Admissions Office as soon as possible. The program begins at 9:00 a.m. and should be completed by 3:00 p.m. Transfer Registration days should be completed by 12:00 Noon. To get your preferred classes and times, you are strongly encouraged to participate sooner rather than later as class offerings will become limited as they fill up. Any student participating in a fall sport or performing ensemble camp must register for classes prior to the fall camp.

Major:
A major is a concentration of specific courses—usually 40-60 credits out of a total of at least 126 needed to graduate—related to a certain subject area. A minor is a smaller concentration of courses involving about 18-20 credits. To graduate, a student must complete requirements for at least one major. A minor is optional. All students are required to take the following courses, many during the first year of studies. Where there are options, please choose your preferred course. Please note that some majors may require one or more courses from each grouping--your advisor will inform you of these requirements or you can reference the Urbana University catalog. Placement in courses is subject to availability. All incoming freshmen are required to take UNI101. Marking a specific course does not mean you are registering for the course, simply indicating your preference among the choices.
